Meet Maja Milecevic. She has been chosen by her fellow classroom mates as the January's Student of the Month!

Newsletter February 2019

The News is all around Our Student of The Month!

January has been, as usual, a far from easy month. It is well known that after the December celebrations, returning to a normal life can be hard. But when reality strikes, we had better be ready. We were!

We planned to make the start of the classes in January  as interesting as possible, and so we have set some goals, two of them are well on the way: -One: We invited the National Press to visit our Class and report on the project, so as to give it the National exposure that it deserves. -Two: Organise and establish a "Student of the Month" contest, which is aimed at creating a dynamic group that can work as a self-evaluating group, and at the same time, praising, motivating and supporting each  member.

So on Saturday, the 23th January, we received the visit from Malta Today, A newspaper that reports on national and international issues. Many students were interviewed and everyone willingly participated in that adventure. I will take the oportunity here, on behalf of CCIF, to thank all of you who accepted to be recorded. We will notify you as soon as the article will be published. Maja Milecevic is a Young Serbian lady who joined our project to improve her Englisgh and learn the Maltese Culture, because she believes that integration is important for a sustainable life in the host country. She is active in the classroom, asks questions, interacts with the teacher and other students. When asked how she feels about being chosen as January's Student of the month, she said, laughing: " I wonder why I was chosen, maybe because I talk a lot? I'm always tallking, I hope it is a compliment. In fact I'm happy to be the Student Of This Month."

Congrats to Maja!  We wish her to perform well until the end. And now it is up to you. Who do you want to be elected as February's Student of the Month?

Finally, You have all agreed to a revised time for the lessons. They now start at 1.30 pm every Saturday, to give more time to those who work until 1pm.

Our monthly appointments not to be forgotten: -Monthly  Facebook live to catch up on everything. It will be on the 8th February from 2pm. -Our monthly  Podcast on SoundCloud: Listen to what you have to say about  your project. Like the project page on Facebook and  visit the blog.  We want to be with you you throughout this cycle of lessons, to successfully walk you through to its finale. We encourage you to forward and share this email with anyone of your contacts who is interested in joining the lessons. See you soon.
