Improving The Cultural Competences of Third Country Nationals and Refugees

Be the change you want to see: A world where Migrants from different horizons communicate, speak and understand each other thanks to their languages skills and cultural awareness of their host country.
This is possible thanks to the contribution of two bodies that work hard for the well being of the society:
•The Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, promoted by The European Union, whose strong advocacy for a positive migrations is one of the core service.
•Cross Cultural International Foundation (CCIF), whose projects on Integration aim at empowering migrants, regardless of their background.
They are offering Elementary and Intermediate Cultural Orientation and English for daily living courses.
The courses are aimed at assisting Third Country Nationals and Refugees:
•To develop basic knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for successful adaptation in Malta.
•To improve communication skills with a focus on cultural differences that may become barriers while looking for a job or even during the integration process.
•To improve their confidence, assertiveness and give them soft skills required for easy adaptation.
What you will learn:
I. Cultural Orientation Courses
• Adapting foreign traditions to conform to and respect local Maltese culture; • Non-discrimination, gender equality and other principles enshrined in Maltese law; •Local educational opportunities;
• Knowledge of Maltese culture, religion, customs & traditions;
• Democracy in Malta; Contemporary history and politics in Malta and Useful services (e.g. for consumers, pregnant women, etc.)
II. The English Courses: • They Will cover Grammar and Vocabulary related to the topics covered in the Cul
tural Orientation Courses.
